Overcoming Arrogance

Every other Monday
Kitab at Miftaah Cafe

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, “No one who has the weight of a seed of arrogance in his heart will enter Paradise.” A man said, “But a man likes to have nice clothes and nice shoes.” The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Verily, Allah is beautiful and He loves beauty. Arrogance is to disregard the truth and to look down upon people.

Join Thabaat and our community of young professionals *every other Monday* for a new series: Overcoming Arrogance, based on Imam Al-Ghazali’s “The Condemnation of Pride and Self-Admiration.”

Gatherings begin with a social hour from 7-8pm, with light refreshments by local small businesses, board games, and time to network at the Kitab at Miftaah cafe with other young professionals.

Lectures are from 8-9pm, and are delivered in a fireside chat format by Sheikh Abdul-Aziz Waheed and Br. Tareq Tamr, exploring how arrogance affects the heart, its dangers in spiritual and social life, and the remedies Islam provides for cultivating humility.

Join us for evenings of community, reflection, and spiritual growth in an accessible and engaging setting welcoming people of all backgrounds!
