Event Speakers

Tareq Tamr is the Program Director at Thabaat and the Head of Engagement at Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research. He studied Psychology with a minor in Philosophy and is continuing Islamic Studies on a part-time basis. He grew up in Windsor, ON and has served the local community as a youth director, khateeb, and lecturer for youth and young professionals.

Mufti Muntasir Zaman is a faculty member at the Qalam Seminary where he teaches Fiqh, Usul, and Advanced Hadith studies. He participates in various online programs at Qalam. He graduated from the âalimiyyah program of the Madrasah âArabiyyah Islamiyyah in South Africa. He then completed the Ifta program and a course specializing in the field of hadith. He holds an MA in Islamic Studies from the Markfield Institute of Higher Education in Leicester, England.

Shaykh Idris Nawaz is an Islamic Studies student, scholar, instructor, and researcher, committed to integrating Islamic philosophy, epistemology, and worldview into contemporary education and academic discourse. His mission is to reframe the Islamic tradition to address modern ideological and spiritual challenges of our era - particularly for Muslims in the West.
